We bought Admiral’s Cap, also known as Cappy, from Sportsman
Racetrack in September of 1988, when Danielle was just 12 years
old. She and her trainer Wojtiech Wiatrowski at Windrose Farm
trained him to be a Hunter. Danielle and Cappy went on to be
an unbeatable pair. Danielle took Cappy with her to Illinois
State University in the fall of 1993, and he stayed with her
at Illinois State while she completed her graduate degree in
the fall of 1998. The pair returned to the suburbs of Chicago
and continued to compete for fun at local area shows. In April
of 2001, at the age of 19, Cappy passed away from an unexpected
aneurism. He will never be forgotten and he will always hold
a special place in our hearts!
